Synthesis on a chip
A large project, conducted in collaboration with Prof. van Hest, aims at developing a microreactor platform that can be routinely used for conducting organic synthesis in microchannels. Currently, a plug-and-play microreactor system exists, which can be used to determine kinetics, optimize reaction conditions, establish catalyst profiles and determine the scope of a reaction in an automated fashion using very small quantities of compound.
